The youngest of six children born and raised just north of Denver in Eaton, Colorado, Mitch grew up playing sports, developing a true love for football which he carried with him into his time at the University of Wyoming where he studied criminal justice.
That love of football didn’t stop after college either— Mitch landed himself a nine-year NFL career, initially signing with the Houston Texans as an un-drafted free agent in 2010; ultimately playing for the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Mitch began his real estate investment journey with his wife 10 years ago as a means of passive income. But his love for the transformations that happen with properties, "turning ideas on paper into reality is more satisfying," he says.
Most recently, Mitch utilizes his experience investing in real estate with his strength as a communicator, fostering connections as Fôrt + Hōm’s Investor Relations Manager. Meeting with potential investors, networking and building relationships – with first-time investors and those with a rich reinvestment history alike – are just a few components of his role. And whether it’s bean and beef burritos smothered in green chile or Americanos made with steamed almond milk— Mitch is always ready for conversation over either.
According to Mitch, "Being able to do what you love; it really means you never work a day in your life." With his small town, country roots, Mitch's favorite song by Hank Williams, Jr. comes to mind more often these days, reminding him, "[we came from] the Rocky Mountains and the western skies and we can skin a buck and we can trot a line and a country boy can survive.”
Wife and son by his side, Mitch enjoys spending time outdoors –– hunting, fishing and hiking. Becoming a father was a life-changing experience for Mitch, as he’ll tell you with a smile, noting that his son is the greatest joy of his life.
